While developing the M3 Transportable system, we discovered that the bathroom fit-out caused a substantial bottle neck in our production line. In order to resolve this we seperated the bathroom into a seperate module that can be completely finished before construction of the cube even commences, this removed the bottle neck and allowed for an increased production. Given the benefits offered by modularising the bathroom, we identified a market for this in the standard construction industry, as bathroom construction also delays house construction. Hence we modified our design to allow our modules to be inserted into any building under constuction. This can shave weeks off the construction time of the building as well as save on the use of wet trades. The module is simply placed within the building, the slab is poured under it which locks it in place. Then the exterior can either be gibbed or covered by brick. |
